Encompassing desirable neighborhoods only a five-minute commute on the bridge including Alki, Admiral, North Admiral, Belvedere, Fauntleroy and Gatewood, West Seattle has increased in popularity as a preferred target for homebuyers relocating from California’s Bay Area and the creative class.

The area’s attractions include sandy, saltwater beaches along the Elliott Bay and Puget Sound shoreline and a boardwalk where rollerbladers and bicyclists cruise by pop-up eateries and quirky, chic shops at the West Seattle Junction. Residents frequent the Water Taxi, whether they’re relaxing on their commute to the city or watching the sun slip beneath the city and the Puget Sound.

Parks

Lincoln Park, Alki Beach, and Beach Drive provide fabulous opportunities for a stroll. Alki Beach offers lots of great places to park a car and pop out for some people watching and delicious restaurants to stop for a bite or two!

Shopping

Capers is a wonderful home store in the Alaska Junction, with many more.

Community

The Fourth of July parade has turned into a fantastic neighborhood celebration that draws thousands (during regular health circumstances). The pet-friendly route loops through the West Seattle area and ends at Hamilton Viewpoint Park.

The Water Taxi

Say goodbye to traffic and embrace a seamless commute via Water Taxi straight to downtown Seattle.

Restaurants

There are some wonderful restaurants in West Seattle. Below are a few favorites:

  • Mio Posto has a wonderful atmosphere and great pizza and other foods, prepared in their famous wood fire oven.

  • Pizzeria 22 has excellent pizza (also made in a wood fire oven) and fantastic Caesar salads.

  • West of Chicago Pizza is a little known secret, with a deep-dish pizza. They require pre-order of 1 to 2 days in advance, with reserved pick-up times after 5pm.

  • Azuma Japanese is located in the Alaska Junction.

  • La Rustica is a family-owned Italian restaurant on Beach Street which is old-school, delicious food.

  • Luna Park, near the bridge, is a fun and casual locale.

  • Ma’Ono has the best friend chicken in downtown Seattle and offers a fun ambience.

  • Elliott Bay Brewery has great Rueben sandwiches, Philly cheesesteaks, fries, and believe it or not, a quinoa salad with fresh veggies.

  • And you can’t live in West Seattle without getting ice cream or a sandwich from Husky Deli - even the specialized groceries are terrific!
